SUMMER EVENTS
• The Rotorua BMX track has undergone some major changes in the last year. The big, big berm at the southern end of the track and the new pro line that follows it are really spectacular.
If you've never been to a BMX meet make sure you get along on February 21 for the Rotorua Cup BMXNZ Race Meeting - it's a blast for spectators. And racing is fast, furious and non-stop.

• Wednesday Club Nights...
At the Rotorua BMX Track: Te Ngae Road (opposite Race Course)
All welcome – come and have a go! We cater for anyone who can ride a bike from aged 3 to 63!
Club Racing: Wednesday nights (until further notice through Summer)
Registration: 5.15pm to 5.50pm
Racing Starts: 6pm. These are weekly through the summer - but BMX Rotorua are taking a break during Xmas and club nights will start again on January 14.

21 February 2009. The elite riders will be at it again and also riders from all over the country racing in age groups...
All BMXNZ race meetings are open to riders who hold a current BMXNZ licence & are pre-registered to ride.

Rotorua hosted the first North Island XC on Saturday January 3 - Mike Northcott of Mangakino and Rotorua's Annika Smail won the Elite categories - FULL RESULTS.
• Downhill Round 1 was on Sunday January 4, on The Taniwha - Scotland's Ben Cathro and Emmeline Ragot of France took out the Elite titles - FULL RESULTS.
• 2009 RABOPLUS NORTH & SOUTH ISLAND MTB CUPS...Rotorua will host DH North Island Cup Round 2 on Jan 16 & 17... VOLUNTEERS NEEDED...
The Whakarewarewa Forest will also be the venue for the NZ Marathon Champs in April as part of THE HIGHLANDER...
• TRAILS: Top week in Rotorua - fine and mild for the next few days.
Even with the rain since Xmas, the trails are drying out fast.
Just a little bit of mud - so, no skidding, please.
Generally, the trails are in excellent condition following a good mix of long, dry spells and a bit of rain to keep the dust down. Overgrown in places, but with rain and warmth it's perfect growing weather.
